Ian's Wedding
The big event in the early summer was Mike’s nephew Ian’s wedding in Wisconsin on June 19, followed by Mike returning with his Dad, Grandpa Mark, for a weeklong visit at our place.
Mike left for Wisconsin on Thursday, June 17th. The next day he helped out – it was the day before the wedding – and went to the rehearsal dinner that evening.
The next day was the day of the wedding! It took place Ian and Marie’s childhood church. The kids and I ‘attended’ on Zoom, watching the whole ceremony through a camera which had been set up for all the remote guests.
Mike went to the reception afterwards in the backyard of Marie’s house. It was a small reception with a sit-down dinner. Marie is the oldest of twelve children (devout Catholic family), so there weren’t many young adults present (who would be the ones dancing), it was mostly her younger siblings and relatives her parents’ age. Once her younger siblings start getting married these events will explode with young adults and then little kids, but Marie is the first so there aren’t any little cousins yet!
Mike spent the next day at the farm, then he flew back to California with his Dad to start Grandpa Mark’s weeklong visit at our place.
